Accomplishments

Sacroiliac Joint Pain is common in women and can often be missed. I have described a New Technique of performing Sacroiliac Joint Injections which increases the chances of injecting medications correctly into the joint. This is now followed by many Pain Specialists across the World. The publication can be accessed via the following link: Click here to view

I was the first to publish a new technique of performing epidural steroid injection for radicular pain / sciatica: Pre-Contrast Injection Multiple Needle Placement Technique: An Alternative Method for Performing Challenging Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injections for Radicular Pain. This technique will improve the chances of delivering the steroid at the target site for patients with sciatica / radicular pain. The manuscript will be published in IPM Report soon.

I was the Chair of the British Pain Society and Map of Medicine Multidisciplinary Low Back Pain and Radicular pain Pathways. The pathways development committee consisted of 19 members representing General Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Spinal Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Pain Medicine specialists and a Patient Representative. The Low Back Pain and Radicular Pain Pathways are Pragmatic Pathway representing a consensus opinion based on the best available evidence and practical common sense. The pathways are available on the Map of Medicine website for healthcare professional via NHS Athens login. A summary of the pathways were also published in the British Journal of Anaesthesia: Click here to view
